Give Thanks With A Stress-Free Thanksgiving in Mendocino County

MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA -- (November 4, 2008) -- This Thanksgiving season, leave your oven mitts at home and travel to beautiful Mendocino County to enjoy a stress-free and delicious Thanksgiving holiday. Winter season is the perfect time to visit the county, when the hordes of summer have departed and storm-driven waves lash the rocky coves. Enjoy your cozy room-with-a view while cuddling in front of a warm fireplace, then venture out for some home-cooked vittles. From oven-roasted turkey and wild mushroom stuffing to sweet potato cheesecake and local huckleberry crisp, you and your family will have a truly delicious meal to be thankful for this Thanksgiving in Mendocino County. November 28th – 29th: 49th Annual Thanksgiving Arts & Crafts Fair
Mendocino Village, 10:00AM – 5:00PM
The holiday shopping season will kick off at the Mendocino Art Center's 49th Annual Thanksgiving Arts & Crafts Fair, with 40 high quality booths displaying an array of one-of-a-kind gift items. A variety of delectable food items, a selection of Northern California beers and wines and Jennie Zacha's traditional blackberry sundaes will be available. 45200 Little Lake Street, FREE. November 28th – 29th: Festival of Trees
Gualala Arts Center – 10:00AM – 5:00PM
A fundraising event for Gualala Arts and a community celebration, the two-day Festival of Trees steps back in time by transforming the Gualala Arts Center into a 19th century mill town. Festival-goers will be served hearty 'vittles,’ including fresh coffee, homemade chili and cornbread, clam chowder and real sourdough, just like the old days. The Stage Road Saloon will offer such libations as hot-spiced apple cider and - for adults only - the legendary Scrumpy. Also features a Gingerbread House Contest, as well as a Fantasy Forest, where decorated "theme" trees are for sale in the Silent Auction.
