* Special Meeting* Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by President Jan Rodriguez at 1:10pm. Present were Richard Strom, Jeff Stanford, Christina Affinito, Mike Bradbrook, Pauline Zamboni, Scott Schneider, Aimee Hanson, Jason Hurst, Jo Bradley, Josie Perla, Cally Dym, Pam Amante, Stuart Marcus Phone:

Privilege of the Floor:

• Spots were bought on KCBS last Tuesday & Wednesday (May 20 & 21) to encourage people to come to Mendocino County for Memorial Day Weekend.
• Pam informed the group that MCPA would like to invite MCLA to a joint meeting sometime during the summer
• Scott commented the County Executive Office is considering a TOT increase from 10 – 12% beginning in 2010. Scott has been directed to keep in close contact with the County in relation to this and other promotional issues. County Executive Office will be sending a letter to MCLA Board in the next couple of days regarding the issue.

Old Business:

• Contract with Visit Mendocino County, Inc. – Ad-hoc committee has met twice with the BID attorney, John Lambeth. A draft 8-page contract has been developed and will be emailed to the Board in the next day or two. The contract will be on the June 3 agenda for a vote. It is a 3-year contract contingent on the passage of the BID each year. Committee feels very positive about the contract and its protection of the BID funds while ensuring Visit Mendocino County, Inc. can function properly.

• Contract with County of Mendocino – Past and proposed contract were compared. An analysis was created based on the changes over the years. Changes will be made and be sent to the County in the next day or two. Scott will send draft to County. A meeting has been scheduled for Monday, June 1st at 1pm with the County to go over the contract.
