MENDOCINO COUNTY LAUNCHES NATIONAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Lodging Association to Promote County’s Unspoiled Beauty, Variety

Mendocino County, CA – (September 1, 2006) – Mendocino County is officially launching a comprehensive marketing campaign to reveal to the rest of the world what locals have always known – that from its ancient forests and wine country to spectacular coasts and romantic lodging – Mendocino is one of the most breathtaking undiscovered vacation destinations in the world.

A volunteer committee of business owners from the Mendocino County Lodging Association (MCLA) successfully created a new business improvement district to raise funds to promote the county. They then interviewed top agencies and after several nail-biting months, selected Ozone Advertising/ HypeHouse Public Relations, a San Francisco firm renowned for their innovative ideas and wide experience.

“Watching all of us come together for the single purpose has been amazing’” said Jo Bradley, President of the MCLA, “We are all very excited and looking forward to the marketing future of Mendocino County.”

The campaign to publicize Mendocino kicks off on September 20th at the annual meeting of the MCLA at the Jeriko Estates in Hopland. Expected to attend are local and national luminaries in the travel industry, as well as the Promotional Alliance, the new Mendocino Wine Commission, the Arts Council, Chambers of Commerce, and others. The keynote address will be given by Jim Abrams, Executive Director of the California Hotel and Lodging Association. Afterwards, the new marketing team from San Francisco will present their exciting new initiatives and branding strategy that will elevate Mendocino to its proper status as California’s most holiday-friendly destination.

The purpose of the Mendocino County Lodging Association (MCLA) is to provide a forum to define and promote the general interests of its members and the Lodging industry in Mendocino County. Members of the MCLA are volunteers. To learn more, visit www.mcla.info.
