The meeting was called to order by Richard Strom at 9:45 am. Present were Jeff Stanford, Jan Rodriguez, Mike Bradbrook, Steven Musser, Pam Amante, Stuart Marcus, Rich & Kathy Carpenito, Scott Schneider and Kevin Gallagher (ll am).

Administration Report: The Joint Marketing Committee Report: No mushroom festival will be held this year. It will merge as part of a crab, mushroom & wine festival at the end of January beginning of February. Interim fulfillment piece will be turned into a 96 page piece expanding each section, with the last few pages solely for advertising. A Rack card will be produced which will mirror the fulfillment piece. A quarterly or semi-annual pamphlet that will go inside the fulfillment piece with calendar of events, etc. will be produced. Wine Media Tour & Event: There were approximately 250 attendees, 60 from Bay Area. Lodging did not see a real benefit in occupancy. They will be better organized next year and they are planning smaller media tours instead of one large one. Old Business: Partnership Requests: Flynn Creek Circus requests $3400 for performances in September & November. Funds would be used mainly for insurance. MCLA requests to see budget and get more information including a performance outline. Heritage Group Brochure requests funding for 25,000 brochures. We will offer space in our 96-page fulfillment piece and we would consider helping to fund a rack card that includes all heritage sites in the county and that the rack card be produced at considerable less monies. Horizon Air: Horizon Air has just added a 3rd flight to LA and one flight to Portland, OR. This amounts to 10 planes full of passengers per day coming in and going out of Santa Rosa and an increase of 40%. Advertising in an in-flight magazine is very costly and we are going to explore getting an article written and produce packages to be used for passengers. Website Advertising: Scott handed out a chart with recommended websites to have listings on. We also agreed to look into green hotels. Jan made a MOTION to have a budget between $2000-4000 for website advertising and consult with professionals, including Maureen Gilbert, as well as others. Jeff seconded the motion. It was approved.
These funds will come out of Other Marketing Budget.
New Business: Presentation by Anna Kvinsland of the Arts Council of Mendocino County: Anna presented the Mendocino Arts Weekend initiative for feedback. She went over the list of deliverables with the start of the partnership in March. They have increased their membership, an Arts Event Calendar will be on gomendo.com, they have adopted the Arts Logo, and Hal Wagonet, former supervisor, is now on their board.
Jeff made a MOTION to continue funding ACMC at $800 per month for this fiscal year through June 2008 and extra funding for special projects which will be brought to the board on a project to project basis. The County is to be approached for matching funds. We encourage the ACMC to approach the cities for funding as well. A Quarterly report will be provided by ACMC. Steven Musser seconded the motion. It was approved.
Anna also presented a Proposal for possible $5000 ACMC grant program. This was tabled until our next meeting. Presentation by Ozone members Tom Kelleher & David McGraine. Handouts given. Campaign brought over 52,000 hits to gomendo.com. Presentation by Hype House member Mark Sejvar. Update on current happenings eco-weddings; Out magazine 3.22 articles per month since beginning of campaign (does not Include event listings).
Pam Amante made a motion Hype House gets a minimum of $10,000 per month. We need a plan from Ozone for the remaining $200,000.00 as soon as possible. Mike Bradbrook seconds the motion. It was approved.
Steven Musser made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 1:05 pm. Kathy Carpenito seconds the motion. It was approved. |
