Jan made a motion to approve the minutes from the last Marketing Committee meeting. Josie seconded the motion. It was approved.

Chairman’s Report:
• Report on correspondence from Mendocinofun.com regarding our “Mushroom Madness” press release. Mendocinofun.com felt we plagiarized the press release from their website and wanted all credit for any press, etc. to go to mendocinofun.com.
• Cally wants MCLA businesses to “tag onto” what MCLA is doing with banner advertising on SFGate.com. Jan motions to offer to all MCLA members on the list serve this opportunity with SFGate.com. Josie Seconded. Motion Passes. Scott to send out email within the next few days.
• MCPA & Joint Marketing should look into having a focused Mushroom event in November, when it has typically been. We are missing a good marketing opportunity. Joint Marketing will look into dates and opportunities for next year.
• Acting Chair would like Marketing Committee to make recommendation to the general board about MCPA/MCLA relationship and Scott’s role in all of this. “It is difficult to work on a business when you are working in a business.” Jan motions the Marketing Committee recommends Scott be allowed to work with both MCLA/MCPA in promoting the County. MCPA should hire support staff to help with the promotional efforts. Committee recognizes Scott will act, independently, on MCPA, its board & staff. Josie seconds. Motion Passes.

Administration Report:
• Bay Area Travel Show – Jan. 12 & 13 – asked for Committee/Board members to attend the travel show. Committee recommends “green” tote bags as give-a-ways.
• Received proposal to advertise in 101 Things To Do. Committee has decided not to advertise in this venue at this time.
• Partnership request from Mendocino Arts Showcase. Stuart motions we give $1000 to Mendocino Arts Showcase as well as give $1500 to the Arts Council earmarked to help develop this type of program inland. Josie seconds. Motion passes.

Old Business:
• Distribution of fulfillment piece – tabled until next meeting

New Business:
• Arts Update: Reviewed “GoArts” Calendar. ACMC is making a presentation to the BOS on December 4th to get funding. Stuart motions MCLA write a letter to the BOS in support of them getting $30,000 from the County. Jeff seconds. Motion Passes.
• Niche Marketing Discussion – tabled until next meeting
• PR/Wine partnership – tabled until next meeting
• Election of Chair/Vice-Chair – tabled until next meeting

Jan made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 12:45pm. Josie seconds the motion. It was approved.
